Access to Newvalley Cottage can be gained from 4pm; in winter months we do recommend arrival before it gets dark (early entry maybe available before 4pm please contact to check).
ARRIVING BY FERRY:
ULLAPOOL to STORNOWAY: 2.5 Hrs
Newvalley Cottage is approximately 1.5 miles away from ferry port.
The bus station is beside the ferry terminal but check bus times prior to arrival.

UIG, SKYE to TARBERT, HARRIS: 1.5 Hrs
A journey time of approximately 45 minutes. by car from Tarbert to Newvalley Cottage,
(35 miles).
Buses available to Stornoway town centre please check times prior to arrival.

A regular bus service passes the cottage and takes you into town; from there you may take one of
the island buses or go on an organised tour.

coverage is good from the cottage but there is a pay phone that takes incoming calls also.
SHOPPING:
There are two main supermarkets Safeways and Co-Op (which is 1mile from the cottage) Stornoway has many shops, which will provide you with all your needs for the duration of your holiday. Generally shops and petrol stations do not open on a Sunday so advisable to stock up on Saturday.
